Fire Waltz

Fire Waltz is a brand new jazz quartet from Wellington and came about after saxophonist Blair Latham, and bassist Alistair Isdale, spent several months getting together and rehearsing/jamming though jazz standards. It was initially just a way to try and keep in touch with the music that they had both studied and largely just a social thing, but after a while they decided to expand and see if they could record something, purely out of the interest of making music. Enlisting the exceptional drumming of Rick Cranson, and sensitivity of pianist Leonardo Coghini has taken what started out as very casual meeting of two musicians into an ensemble that really focusses on making music in the tradition of jazz.
